Canon Gl1 3 Ccd Mini Dv Camcorder

This is the most complete and most original GL1 factory set for sale including the hard-to-find special cable that plugs into the camera with a 3-section male plug and which gives RCA output for video/audio, the factory manual, the factory box, the Canon lens hood, and the original still-working Canon battery.
I just shot video with it on August 25, 2023 and watched it on my 4K TV and everything was working the way it was supposed to.
The GL1 has a fantastic zoom lens which makes even the best smartphone camera look very inadequate. I have used it to capture action that was a mile away.
This camera has received the best care and has always been babied.
I have never once had any problems with this camcorder and it has been one of the most reliable cameras I have ever owned. The camera doesn't make any noises or sounds that it shouldn't or emit any odors. It has never been repaired or modified or stolen or dropped or whacked or gotten wet or stored in a damp or humid or freezing environment or in an unheated location and has never been near fire or any other high heat source. It has never been x-rayed. The camera was stored in my house where nobody smokes.
I bought the camera new and am the only owner and the only person to ever handle or use the camera and no pets or other animals ever got near it. Camera can be put in either 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio modes.
You will get what is shown in the photos. I believe that all the specs shown by the canned Ebay product listing and what may be shown on the Canon Box or in the Canon factory manual or on the camera itself are correct, but I do not guarantee it.
My bad: I forgot to take a photo with the swing-out screen opened. It has a nice bright easy-to-see display and it works perfectly including when I shot video with the camera on August 25, 2023. The camera is now stored away in its original Canon box with original packing materials, but If you request it, I will take photos of the swing-out screen and what is behind it and send them to you through Ebay messaging & add them to the Ebay listing.
The original Canon factory manual, almost as thick as some books, is in pristine condition with not even the slightest sign of use or storage. It looks like it just came off the printing press. The few times I used it, I wore surgical gloves so as not to get any fingerprints or smudges on it and it was always stored inside the Canon box wrapped in the original cellophane storage bag. From the minute I bought this camera new, it was always my intention to go to extremes in order to keep the entire outfit looking like brand new.

* The original Canon box which this outfit came in and in which it will be sent to you using most of the original Canon packing materials including the original Canon styrofoam packing which is in excellent condition(along with a second non-Canon box containing the tapes and extra battery, see below). I will ship the Canon factory box containing most of the rig inside another larger cardboard shipping box and will not write on or put tape on the original factory box.
In addition to the above items which came from Canon new in the box, you will also receive:
(1) Eight used mini-dv tapes in very good condition. I estimate 99.9 + percent of the total run time of those tapes to be good, but some may have bad spots, especially in the first 2 minutes of run time (I always started taping at run time 3 minutes to be safe). Although the photo shows fewer than 8 tapes, you will receive 8 tapes.
and
(2) a large capacity non-Canon battery.
Not included (but shown on Canon box) are an S-video cable and a shoulder strap. If I have not shown any item in the photos or videos here, then it is not included regardless of what any Canon literature might state or what any canned Ebay description might state or what might be printed on the original Canon box.
From the time I bought it new, the camera has never been anywhere besides inside my house stored in its padded storage bag, or in my car stored in its padded storage bag while I was driving or on my person. It has never been in a plane, train, or bus or in anything that could shake it up such as an amusement park ride or on a horse,etc.. The camera ac adapter and charger were never plugged in during thunderstorms. In short, I was super careful with it.
When I cleaned the heads, I used the proper cleaning fluids, not abrasive cleaning tapes which cause a lot of needless wear on the heads.
Any imperfections shown in the photos that look like they could be scratches are just dust, not scratches. There seem to be two small hairline cracks near the power/mode switch and there is a crack in the case of the third party battery, but the battery works fine-no leaks or problems. I have no idea how the small hairline cracks near the on/off/mode switch got there-must've been quantum physics in action. The camera was never used commercially and I estimate has less than 200 hours of use including both recording and playback. The camera was stored in a large padded camera case in its own isolated compartment so nothing else could rub against it. The lens hood, wireless controller, charger, and the adapter to allow the camera to run from house ac power were also in their own isolated compartments. Most of this rig is in like new cosmetic condition. Nothing is beaten up or old looking other than a little bit of the printing on the camera being faded from my carrying the camera. Although the camera was probably used less than 200 hours, it was probably carried around by me on a camera strap or else being held in my hand for over a thousand hours while I was walking around looking for things to shoot and the camera was turned off-that is why some of the printing on the camera looks faded. I could never figure out a way to stop the printing on the camera from being faded by my walking around with the camera while at the same time keeping the camera ready to start shooting at the drop of a dime to catch the best shots that always seem to happen suddenly with no warning.
